Generator Engine NVH testing
The objective of the project was to reduce the noise level of an existing G.P. engine by 5dB. We identified the dominant source of the noise in the phase 1 testing. This was followed by Vibration measurement and Transmission loss testing during Phase 2.
Our work included sound intensity mapping to locate the dominant source of noise, sound power measurements, FFT analysis, vibration measurements at critical locations and capture of transmission loss.
Our results correctly identified the largest contributors of sound and helped make the necessary modifications to the product design.
