L&T Technology Services Limited hosts Diversity & Inclusion Summit for NASSCOM in Knowledge City campus, Vadodara

Vadodara, Dec 22, 2016: L&T Technology Services Limited (NSE: LTTS), a leading global pure-play Engineering R&D Services company, announced initiatives to address diversity and inclusion and unveiled ongoing skill development initiatives for the people of Gujarat.

As part of this focus, the company hosted a high level industry panel discussion along with NASSCOM, held at L&T Technology Services’ campus in Knowledge City, Vadodara, to discuss on the key theme of Diversity and Inclusion encompassing gender, generational and ethnic diversity related issues as well as exemplary success stories of differently-abled people.

The discussions also elaborated on the encouraging trend of rise in skill development in differently-abled citizens of the country. The gathering called upon organizations to open up more employment opportunities for people with disabilities through increased access to skill based education and affirmative action.

L&T Technology Services has successfully implemented skill development initiatives through the CSR act, and is actively working on vocational skill building programs for people with disabilities. The initiative titled “Naya Savera” (A New Dawn) aims at ensuring equal human rights to differently-abled individuals by enhancing employability skills and empowering them to be confident and self-reliant for a better future.

L&T Technology Services is firmly committed to various diversity and inclusion initiatives including special women recruitment drives, recall programs for ex-women employees and policies which have been introduced to accommodate a flexible work life culture for working women. L&T Technology Services’ Gender Diversity & Inclusion campaign – “Wings”-, aims at building a culture that promotes hiring women, developing their careers and retaining top talent.

Additionally, L&T Technology Services is also working towards empowering the underprivileged by offering sustainable livelihood, providing trade training with certification from reputed institutes and improving access to quality education & learning, especially for students from Government aided schools. Mini Science Centers have been set up in Mumbai and Vadodara covering over 14,000 children. In the ongoing fiscal, L&T Technology Services is providing vocational and skill based training to more than 1,400 underprivileged youth and has enabled many of them to get employed in various organizations.
